Question about drivers when upgrading to 5850

I have a 4850 and just ordered a 5850. are the ati drivers universal, meaning I can just plug the 5850 and go (I have ccc 9.11) or do I need the 5800 specific drivers? the 4850 is my first ati card so i don't know how upgrading works works.

The 9.11 drivers will suppor the 5850. You just need to make sure the ATI driver set you have supports the model you have. I have a 5870 and am running 9.11, which I believe is the most recent. You will be able to install it keep your current drivers. You may have to reboot your PC and possibly reset your display resolution.
