Like all of these kinds of devices they work in an incredibly stupid way that is not at all natural to do. You don't just think about wanting to do something and it happens. It's just like prosthetic hands, where you flex your bicep in a certain way to make it open or close.

This does that but with facial and head muscle movements. So if you can not talk and mess up input and whatnot then, yeah, it works. Technically.
