In the past 6 months i've gone through three motherboards due to DOA or short circuit. After replacing all parts that'd prevent my motherboard from being short circuited again, i've decided to start search for a different motherboard than the previous ones.

The motherboard has to be compatible with these components:

Intel Core2Quad Q9400 2.66Ghz (Socket 775)
G-Skill DDR2 1066 4GB
XFX GTS 250

I want to keep the prices under $175. Does anyone have any trustworthy motherboards in mind? I have an 850 watt power supply so a power consuming mobo isn't a problem.

I would think you'd be well off with a P45 by ASUS or Gigabyte...I personally like the UD3P or UD3mR (Gigabyte) - had great luck with them (those can be found near $100, or a little more with MIR).

If you don't need something with those features, the UD3L (Gigabyte) is also nice.

i had a foxconn ELA, then a gigabyte UD3P (which got short circuited) then i had an ASUS P5Q. I'm thinking about getting an XFX N750 or N780. I just hope the 780 can support 1066mhz
