Motherboard Compatibility Question

This post is asking if this motherboard and processor work together. I thought they did, but my more tech savvy friend seemed to think they didn't.

Intel Core i7 860 Processor BX80605I7860 - 2.80GHz, LGA 1156, 8MB L3 Cache, Quad-Core, Lynnfield, Retail

Gigabyte P55A-UD3 Motherboard - Intel P55, Socket LGA1156, ATX, Dual-Channel DDR3, PCIe, USB 3.0, SATA 6Gb/s

What do you guys think?

Someone had mentioned to me something about board and bios limitations. I'll be honest, I'm not very knowledgeable in this field yet. Just getting started really.

All your help is greatly appreciated :)

I don't see any problems with pairing an i7 860 with that gigabyte board. It will work just fine.
I think your friend maybe means the USB 3.0 limitations. When you enable USB 3.0 on a P55 board, the first PCI-E slot will run at 8x rather than 16x(doesn't make a huge difference though)
