Hi all, I have Corsair XMS2 CM2X2048-6400C5 RAM at the moment, 4GB of it, It's 800mhz dual channel and the timings are 5-5-5-18, now i don't know a great deal about RAM, but i'm looking to up from 4GB to 6 or 8GB.

Looking around i've seen that TWIN2X4096-6400C5C is much more readily available than my RAM and seems to be cheaper aswell, it's timings are also 5-5-5-18 and is also 800mhz dual channel.

Would there be any problems if i mixed and matched 4GB of that with mine?

Thanks all.

It should work if your motherboard supports it. Plan to increase your northbridge voltage one or two increments in the BIOS, and set the RAM latencies to 5-6-6-15.

Thanks for replying, i found the memory support list on the asus website (i have an asus P5n-d) and it doesn't mention mine or the ram i'd like to mix it with in the support list. The only corsair ram that it supports at 800mhz is CM2X1024-6400C4 :s

I'll look for another list...
