Usb pen drive not detected

Hello,
My pen drive is not being detected. i tried most solutions on here but none work. I have xp. Will not detect mu usb pen drive but will detect my printer. Checked pen drive on another oc/laptop works ok. also when I go to device manager can't see usb controller but instead I see a grey diamond symbol with unknown next to it. I have not tried chip set reload cos i got no idea what that is Thank you
