Hello all, i need help, i want to upgrade my processor with Processor E5400 dual core 2.7 mhz, but after i change the processor, my computer won't start, with indicator led yellow.
my computer spec :
dell optiplex gx620
P4 3.0 mhz

I don't think there is an upgrade for that mobo.
The cpu you have is the Pentium 4 they made for your mobo which is a socket 478.
The next Intel release was the socket 775 mobo which can accomodate the dual core.
Do yourself a favour and download CPU-Z to identify your mobo and cpu.

The upper limit on socket 478 was the 3.4GHz EE I believe. Of course, it's really not worth spending money on now, and you're motherboard probably wouldn't take it anyway. Sorry but it's time for you to get a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM at the least.

The best you can do is a Pentium D dual core 900 series.
If you want to use the E5400 you'll need a new mobo.
