A website I frequently order parts on is having a sale of 6GB of Corsair XMS3 Dominator TR3X6G1600C8D for $220 (reg. $300). I am building a new rig and I will definitely be doing some overclocking. Is this RAM a good option?

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Yeah that's a very good RAM but be sure that u get a mobo and CPU that support tri channel.

x58 mainboards support tri channel right? Thanks for the welcome, I know I'm gonna be learning a ton here.

Yeah, in fact the X58 mobos are the only one that support tri channel RAM.
