My question to you dear people is which one is better? The Hd 4890 or the HD 5770?

Please help me as I am not sure which one to get!

Thanks

HD 4890 is more powerful and consumes more power. It is also limited to DX10.1.

HD 5770 has the performance of the HD 4870, consumes significantly less power, roughly 70w vs. 120w, and supports DX11.

How important is DX11 to you? DX9 is still being supported since many people still run Win XP. DX10 is not going anywhere yet either.

so if you had to buy one which one would it be?
and i dont really care for dx11 as its too early to buy a card that fully supports it.
(and i still run on XP :D)

If you plan to upgrade your video in a year, then I would go for the 4890 to have the power NOW. It is DX10.1 and consumes more power, but does have more raw performing power.

If you are planning to hang on to this card for a while, or are limited by your PSU, I would recommend the 5770. It is DX11 and runs cooler and uses less power.

As far as manufacturers, The cards are all the same (maybe a different cooler), but the difference is support and warranty. XFX tends to be the best in that department. My last 2 cards have been ASUS, which has a 3year warranty. I don't ususally hang onto a card that long anyways. But really it is whoever has the best deal.
