Hi all just want to now , i,m about to but a new cpu in my pc , will i have to reformat it after i have but the new chip in.
My new cpu is a AMD PHENOM X4 9650 , going on a MSIK9N6PGM2-V mob.

no, reformat is not required unless changing hard drives or motherboard. Possible that you may need a BIOS update for the new CPU though.

Welcome to the forum, fellow newcomer.

Though I might not have the exact answer for you, it would be handy for the rest of the guys here to include information about what version of Windows (assuming that's your operating system of choice), because different operating systems have different requirements for upgrading hardware.
