How can I make a 64-bit system?

Last response: in Systems

I know I need a 64-bit Operating System(I'm going to use Windows 7 Ultimate), and a 64-bit capable processor(I have an AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE Deneb 3.4GHz). Is there anything else I need to do to make this computer 64-bit/capable of using 4GB or more of RAM? Is there any tweaking in the BIOS needed? My motherboard is the MSi 790FX-GD70. Thanks

If you have a processor that is a 64-bit (and backward compatability with 32-bit OS) then you only need to choose whether you want to use a 32-bit OS or a 64-bit OS.

OS = operating systems

most intel's latest processors have the 64-bit architecture. I guess AMD's latest should have it also.

so just make sure the processor has it and then u can't go wrong with anything else.
