The 4770 is weaker and modern games are gpu intensive, not cpu intensive. Plus the 5770 supports dx 11, uses less energy, and is the heart of a gaming build. Going for a weaker gpu doesn't make sense here. For a gaming build, gpu comes before cpu. Plus with that combo i5+4770 vs 955+5770, the AMD/ATi combo will outperform for gaming, which is what the client wants to do.
