Or would I be better off going i5 with a 5770?

I was gonna go for an i5 but decided it wasn't worth it. I did go for the 5850 over the 5770 for future-proofness(should I be concerned that Sapphire only offers a 2 year warranty? Is my card apt to break down after that?)

Was also considering Athlon II x4 630, but it seems the Phenom ii x3 720 is better for games.

The mobo has good reviews, the RAM seems standard, and the PSU is corsair. Am I good to go? Upgrading from a Pentium D 830 with integrated graphics >_>.
Also, two more things.

can anyone reccommend an optical drive?
AND
should I get Windows 7 Pro OEM or Retail? Seems like OEM might be a good idea, since by the time this computer is out of date Windows 8 will probably be out or something.

Thanks!

Oh, I thought the WD drives were the most highly reccommended. So an F3 or a 7200.12 would be better overall? I don't really care too much about speed, but I'd like to not have to deal with dead hard-drives anytime soon.

Also, I just discovered XP mode doesn't support compatibility with old games because of lack of DirectX, is it still worth it?

Only in special cases. I run a lot of graphics/multimedia stuff, and the only piece of s/w that won't run except in XP mode is an old (1.x) version of Lightroom. Microsoft describes it as useful mostly for dated corporate software, which sounds realistic. Chances are you won't ever need XP mode for anything. But then - having it as an option is reassuring, since W7 Home won't give you the option.
