Hey, I have an amd 960T quad core at 3 ghz (stock everything) and I was wondering how I know what voltage to use to get a 3.6 - 4 ghz OC on it. My hyper 212+ will be arriving next week and I still have never overclocked. I am not tech illiterate (I built my computer) but I am OC illiterate :p

(P.S. I have an asrock 970 extreme3 mobo

More about : overclocking n00b

You start to overclock and only change the voltage when it becomes unstable. You could search the internet and find out what voltages other people used for your desired overclock but every chip is different so it could either be more than enough for you or not enough

Okay, so I should overclock a little, run a test, then oc further if its stable?

Here is an excellent guide on how to OC your CPU.

Good luck to you. :sol:
