APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: ASAP before I talk myself out of it BUDGET RANGE: $700-$800 AR
SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming - WoW, Simcity 4, Civ IV, maybe some newer games; fractal rendering with UltraFractal; some movie watching/entertainment
PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, monitor, sound card
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg is fine COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA
PARTS PREFERENCES: I imagine AMD would give me better bang for the buck, but I am not hardcore either way.
OVERCLOCKING: Maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No
MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1280x1024 (dual monitor setup for 2560x1024), OR whatever I can get using a 37in HDTV.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Essentially I just want Windows pc that I can play some of my older games that I am tweaking for, and same goes for my wife. This would be my first build, so what I have done is basically put together two "lists" on newegg ... and can't tell if they are enough for what I want, or a bit of overkill. So here it goes ...
Build #1 - ~$700
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=16754167
Build #2 - ~$800
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=12948146
I hope just posting the URL to my public wishlist works for everyone, if not - then I'll do the dirty work of copying/pasting to all the different selections.
Thanks in advance.
