Antec 1200 Full Tower Case + Antec CP 850W Modular PSU - Super Choice

Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz- Obvious Choice

My son has the R2E and we're still trying to learn it's intricacies but we could help ya w/ BIOS settings if ya go that way. has nice sound daughter card .... and looks kinda cool in a blingy kinda way :)

memory is overpriced - Dominators are $258 ..... same speed memory for $119

CPU HS - Do yourself a favor and enjoy the extremely easy install of the prolimatech megahalems. Typing from a box w/ 1200 case, two fans missing (long story) w/ following temps on the mega.

3.7 GHz w/ HT, Speedstep and all other BIOS features enabled Core Temps = 63/62/60/61 under prime 95
4.2 GHz w/ HT, Speedstep disabled Core Temps = 69/63/64/62 under prime 95

I bought mine here:

For Optical would suggest a Plextor 320SA and for hard drives either of the 500GB platter designs (WD Black in 2TB size only, Seagate 7200.12 and Spinpoint F3 in any size)

Well thank you for ur time jack, i had also looked into the P6T v2, i just thought the P6TD being slightly cheaper would make it worth while, i will give the P6T v2 some serious thought now, as for ram that was the other ram i had in mind with me having OCZ in this pc im on now and had no problems with timings lowered, as for heatsink ive purchased the true already thru ebay, was a good deal at the time and ive got 1 on my q6600 oc to 3 (by choice) soon to be my daughters, as for fans i have orderd the scythe and a noctua vortex 1 ill benchmark em both to see which seems best, hd im getting the velociraptor 150gb and ill add a spinpoint f1 in near future, so thanks again for ur help
