I have a ML150g2 Server with pc2700 2x512 ram working fine.
Recently i shutdown a dell server which had pc2100 4x1gb ram
when i put these ram in hp server it is not recognising these memory modules. HP says it requires only pc2700 memory modules.
by googling i found the difference in PC2100 & pc2700 is only fsb speed beeing 333mhz and 266 mhz.

is there any chance so that i can use these pc2100 modules in my server?

Hello,

Firstly, do you know the exact memory type of PC2100 modules whether it is ECC, Non-ECC or if it is Registered ECC memory? Your system supports only ECC registered memory modules and the only speed recommended is PC2700. HP can be very picky sometimes and it is wise to go with the same speed. Theoretically, PC2100 should work but sometimes it may not work. Also mixing speeds is not a good idea. If you could let me know the specifications maybe then I might be able to help.

If you think the memory (PC2100) is not a ECC registered memory and if you are looking for memory then you might want to take look at this webpage - HP ProLiant ML150 G2 memory. Anyways, you could try installing a single module and check if it is working. Looking forward to your reply.
