GA-73PVM-S2H Audio Problems "No Audio Device"

Forum Motherboards & Memory : Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H Audio Problems "No Audio Device"

Hi,

I have a GA-73PVM-S2H on Win XP SP3. When I go into "Sounds and Devices" into control panel, I get "No Audio Device" but when I open the Realtek software, I can hear the test just fine. When I try to play a MP3 in WMP, I get an error but when I play it in Foobar (when selecting Realtek as outout) it works just fine!

No errors being displayed in device manager, all looks fine there

Any advice would be great

Thanks,

JJ

Download and install DriverSweeper
Run in safe mode
Check off Realtek audio
Click clean
Restart normally
download appropriate drivers for your mobo
either Giga-Byte or Realtek website.

No luck

Installing drivers and it errors 0x0000000E but when I do the fix so it installs, it reboots and still doesn't work

Music plays in foobar but not WMP and devices don't show in control panel

Sounds to me like you have a misconfigured file in your registry.
I would try something like ccleaner which is free and it might fix the error.

Probable first step: run DxDaignostic (type "dxdiag" (no quotes) <ENTER>, click the 'save all information' button, 'plop' the file onto MediaFire or the lieke, and post a pointer to it. If you're not used to such services, PM me later, and I'll give you a direct email to send it as an attachment - ruled don't allow posting it here...
