Which temp monitoring program should I trust

Hello I have just a quick question, I run core temp and speed fan, but core temp shows the temps being higher by anywhere from 4 - 8C should I only trust the program that shows it running at its highest?

I am running a X2 5600+

It doesn't have to be perfect, just in the ballpark. For safety, set the shutdown temp in the bios at around 70c if your board permits this.

if you were in my shoes would you only pay attention to the one with the higher temp? is there a way to actually find out accurately what the temps really are?
