Dvd rw to dvd rom

Hello,
what physical part of dvd rw drive can be removed or replaced so that it could turn to dvd rom drive?

what do you mean and what makes dvd rw<ram> a dvd rw not dvd rom?please give detailed information.

A DVD rom drive will only read DVDS,A DVDRW drive will read and write DVDS.

If you need to read a disk format that your existing player won't read, buy a new drive that will work. You won't be able to buy parts to convert your drive to another type. Or I should say, you can get the parts but it will cost you 5 times more than just buying a new drive.
