First of all, I browsed the forum a bit and found another question quite similar to this one, but with different components. Since I do not want to have to send anything back after I place my order, or at least I want to reduce the chances of having to do so, I want to ask this question with my specific components in mind.

The motherboard in question is GIGABYTE GA-H55-USB3 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128437). In the product specs, it states the memory standard is DDR3 1666(OC)/1333/1066/800. So, my question is, will a pair of DDR3 1600 modules work, and what kind of performance could I expect? These are the memory modules in question: CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145260).
That set of modules is less expensive than a pair of DDR3 1333 modules, which is why I would buy them if they would work.
I appreciate your assistance.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Yeah that RAM can works in ur mobo but u need use the XMP for run it @ 1600MHz.

What performance? not big since the CL of the RAM is 9 and isn't a good CL for DDR3.
