i recently built myself a new computer, and found I had to replace my wireless card because it only had drivers up to windows ME. well in all fairness they had drivers on their site, but all they did was give me error messages. I would love to go back to that device, because it worked! never had stability issues. now i'm using this new 2.4 ghz wireless B from linksys. according to my device I always have a perfect signal with 11 mbps. came as a shock to me considering I have to sometimes hit 'Go' or 'enter' several times just to get a page to load. its even worse for games. they always start out perfectly. then a random amount of time later, disconnect me after this gradual slow down. my old linksys never had a perfect connection, but it never failed either... the other thing I've noticed is my 2.4ghz wireless phone we have can kill my connection instantly. noboday really uses the house phone any more though... I did the other day and I thought someone had unplugged the router. click off the phone and hey theres gamespy! I wish I knew what all info I need to post... lets see: linksys usb wireless B 2.4ghz, netgear router, windows xp.

Since nobody uses the phone anyway, turn it off completely. There's a chance that is your entire problem. If the problem goes away then there you go. Exchange the phone for a 900 Mhz or 5 Ghz if you want wireless telephone connectivity. If that doesn't solve it you may still have other interference. Netstumbler may be able to help you out there finding rogue AP's. I'd look at the phone first. You could try changing the channel on your AP, but if the phone frequency hops and disrupts your WLAN then there isn't a whole lot you can do but kill it. Some radio's handle interference better than others.
