Normal Vertex 2 operation?

Hello all,

This is my first post on here, so appologies for any faux pas :D

Basically, I need help. My computer has recently begun stuttering occasionally, where whatever im doing will freeze for a second (and get the classic freeze noise of it rapidly repeating whatever the last microsecond was playing). Im noticing this a lot whenever Im doing several things at once, eg watching HD internet episodes (day9 :D) as well as having spotify playing or trying to open up a game, or basically anything where there would be a heavier load than normal on the computer. Doing each of these things by themselves is ok, but together and I start to get problems. I havent had anything crash or get any errors, just random lag/freezing/stuttering, and I tried to play Bad Company 2 again yesterday and the graphics settings that were fine before were now unplayable.

Vitals: (let me know if Ive forgotten anything)
Asus P5K 775 DDR2 P35
Intel Q6600 @2.4Ghz
4GB Corsair XMS6400 DDR2 (4x1GB)
Asus GeForce 8800GT 1GB
OCZ Vertex 2 120GB
2x Seagate Barracuda (1x 500GB 7200.11, 1x 1TB 7200.12)
Windows 7 fully updated

I saw on another post that you need to leave your computer on, but not logged in so that the SSD basically has time for self maintenance, which sounded a bit like hocus pokus but thought I would give it a try. The only result according to CrystalDiskMark is that the 4k read speed has TANKED. doesnt seem to be any other difference, if anything the numbers have declined.

Because im awful at the pictures side of the interweb, here are the crystal disk results xD

It is my gut feeling that there is something wrong with the SSD, but I installed 2 additional sticks of ram at the same time as I switched to the SSD, (OS and apps run off SSD, and AHCI is enabled) so I cant rule out the ram. Im currently in the process of obtaining a CD for memtest, so ill post the results as soon as Ive run it. Can someone post their read/write speeds for a Vertex 2? (or link me to a review with it...been searching for ages and cant find one =/)

Anyways, thanks very much in advance, and any and all advice/help will be appreciated =) (inb4 sys32)
Cheers

Don't forget when they put the spec's of the SSD they always say "up to" so your sequential read is with in spec's at 205 mb/s but the writes could be better.
OCZ says up to, 285 read/275 write /mb/s. for the 120gb SSD.

Windows 7 64 bit
PSU: Corsair HX520

sorry, didnt include the psu as i didnt think it would be relevant =). the 32/64 bit i plain forgot haha

I know its all 'up to' and approximate, but the read/write speeds used to be waaaay higher. im fine with the majority of the read speeds (although the random read 4k @ ~20mb/s is pretty awful), but im pretty sure the write speeds used to be (and should still be) much quicker. any idea of what the stuttering could be from?
thanks for the reply!

so nobody knows? Im just looking for an idea of normal operation, I have a feeling that my speeds are quite a bit below where they should be =/
