I am getting this message "unable to readfrom or write to
the database" This happens after the install runs for
awhile in the backing up portion. I have XP pro on a HP
3.03 HT processor. This has happend when installing from
auto updates and the windows update page. Any ideas?

Thanks,

KC

Hi

I have created a batch file that might help out on this problem.

Go to
http://www.michna.com/kb/WxSP2.htm [...] ice_Pack_2

Look for fixdb.bat under "Error 0x800710D9 Unable to read from
or write to the database". Download and run it.

Great, and good luck on your SP2 experience :-)

For folders you can consider deleting and other disk cleanup tips
after a successful SP2 installation, take a look here:
