Hello, Can I hook-up my hard drive on the same cable as my dvd or do they require seperate cables?

if there are ide the hdd go master and the dvd slave ,on sata use one connector for each

Yes This is the flat ribbon Ide cable that goes to the dvd. I want to use my old hard drive as a slave drive. The master hard drive is sata and there are no Ide ports on motherboard to plug the slave drive into. I have just the auxilary plug on the ribbon cable to the dvd available
