PC can not recognize Seagate Internal Hard drive

hi, i have hp pavilion a1237c. When I boot the cumputer no read any hard drive only the dvd and cd-rom .reason for why i can't get in the windows xp .please can you help me to fix

What is the exact error you get?
Does the drive show up in the BIOS? If not, check the cables and try again. If it does, boot to your XP disc and try to repair the boot drive.
