Hi guys I'm not sure if I'm positing in a right place, if not I'm sorry I'm tired of looking over internet about my issue and I thought one of you guys might help me.
So this morning I tuned my pc, came back and the screen stayed black and I'm not able to see anything
Things I have done so far:
*Check the cables
*Connect my monitor to my laptop making sure it works
*Attempting to boot with one ram stick out
*Putting two stick in different slots
*Taking graphic card out, reseat it
*Let it run for 30minutes
*Taking battery out to clear cmos
*Booting with no battery
*Trying other dvi port on my graphic card
*Turning monitor on and off
*Have it turned off for an hour no power what so ever no battery in
*Connecting using dvi port instead of my dvi cable
Ok so the card fan is spinning like normal
When I have computer running and I press Caps Lock on my keyboard the light doesn't show up >_>
I dont have any beeps signaling anything wrong
I hear the hard drive spinning at boot, all fans work, psu works everything looks great
I inspected that everything is plugged in to my modular psu
Both cd drives work...
My complete specs are as follow: (I guess everything is running stock since I took battery out to reset CMOS)
*G.Skill 4gb ddr2 800 @954mhz
*Win7 7600 64bit
*Intel Core2Quad q6600 @ 3.4ghz
*Antec TwelveHundred full tower case
*Silverstone 700w modular striker series
*Coolermaster v8 heatsink
*Power Color Ati 4870 1gb ddr5 edition (800core/1090memory)
*ASUS 20X DVD±R DVD Burner
*Seagate Barracuda 500gb
*P45 ASUS P5Q SE
Any ideas guys?
I think my gpu might be dead but the fan is spinning and its getting warm so its working right?
Unplugging and replugging in all the cables and dusting everything thoroughly. Dirt or gravity may have cause something to make a bad connection even though its plugged in. The next thing would be to borrow someone elses GPU and see if it works. If it doesnt then your PSU or motherboard may be damaged. Inspect the motherboard and GPU for signs of a blown capacitor or some other damage.
