Overclock p4 2.8 to higher fsb

Basically the pc ive currently using is on its way out so ive got hold of intel p4 board which i plan on sticking in a old tower.

This board i bought has a 533fsb (which is higher then my current one) and ive got a 2.8 cpu here that runs at 400mhz.

What im wondering is if i used the bsel mod on it to up it to 533 would this work? This would make it jump to 3.7.

Also if i try it is there any chance of anything breaking? I dont care if it breaks the cpu itself since i got another one here.

The old P4s are oddly forgiving. It might run at 3.7 with a few voltage tweaks but its still going to be a slug, the architecture is very old

So its safe for me to try it then?

And i know its not gonna be major fast but if it works should still be faster than the other 2.8 at 533fsb since i cant overclock in the bios.

Safe or not you're only risking a CPU that's been out of date for 5 years. It's worth a shot just for the fun
