Is it possible to OC a gaming rig without liquid cooling? how high would be reasonable?

probable first build:

CASE: CM 690 ii advanced

MOBO: z77 UDH5 gigabyte

CPU: i7-3770k

PSU: SeaSonic platinum 1000w

RAM: 16 gb Mushkin enhanced blackline DDR3 1600

Storage: 120 gb SSD (brand and SSD size open to suggestion)+ 1 tb western digital 7200 rpm

optical drive: blu-ray (open to brand suggestions)

GPU- ASUS 2gb gtx 670

a good aircooler like Coolermaster Hyper 612 PWM will do just fine.
BTW,you don't need 1000w platinum power supply.a quality 750w will handle 670 SLi+overclocks very well.i would suggest this one-

$90 after rebates is a great deal.
for SSD,crucial m4 128gb for $125 is a good buy-

most reliable and fast enough.
get a blu ray only if blu ray movies are high priority.this one will do http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136241fine-
contribute towards a better case like antec 1100,haf 922,or 400r depending on your personal preference.
