Xfire and idle - why one card so high?

I now have a HIS 4850 and a visiontek 4850 in xfire.

I had the HIS for 6 months, it idles at core speed of 160, and worked real well and quiet.

I got the visiontek recently, and added it. It idles at speed 500, and the stupid fan is loud to begin with, but when idling i want it to be quiet, but the core speed apparenly wont let it reduce the fan speed (idle temp is like 42 cel).

Anyone know why the visiontek wont also go down to idle core speed of 160, and how to make it go less than what it is know - 500 (I mainly want the fan to be quiet)

help greatly appreceiated.

Does it do this in crossfire mode only, or in both?

I'd guess the problem is simply that the visiontek does not have as aggressive power play settings. That will onyly be the case if it does it in and out of crossfire mode.

I never ran the visiontek by itself, so i dont know what its normal idle speed is, and dont want to mess with redoing stuff.

Oh well, thats the way it goes sometimes.
Guess ill get a quieter heatsink/fan for the card.
