I heard that there are a few graphics cards that do not run with Windows 7.
Is ATI Radeon HD 5850 compatible with Windows 7 64bit Professional?

Yes. I use my 5850 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit... all 64 bit Windows 7 versions use the same driver model... so you're good.

Any modern card is going to be Windows 7 compatible... Windows 7 is just too big to not support.

hi guys!! i am having a big problem with the driver here! i just bought a new sapphire 5850. i have uninstalled all the old drivers and plug the card in. it works at first, but after i installed the new driver from the ati website and it doesnt work anymore. i try to reboot my computer several times, however, it sometimes shows the blue screens and sometimes displays nothing after the starting window sign. i have also tried to reinstall my window too. unfortunately, it didnt work either. after all, i try to put the computer in safe mode and it works only for the safe mode. i uninstall the driver from the safe mode and reboot the window and it works. i try to install the driver again and it does the same thing... blue screens and all blank after the starting window sign. please anyone!! help me out!! i will greatly appreciate your kindness.

Khoipham, i have the same issue. Windows 7 seems to have a major issue with Radeon graphics cards, because I have discovered numerous similar complaints, and not seen any solution as of yet. I had this same issue with both the 5770 and the 5850. I ran Win xp 32 bit with the 5770, and it worked well. Neither the 5770 nor the 5850 drivers seem to work with some systems running Win 7 64bit. I am running an asus mobo, and AMD phenom 3.2 ghz, which should both be very compatible with Ati cards. I don't know if the software issue is Radeons fault, or Win 7's.

Will follow up. If you discover the exact problem, please post...
