PCIE 16x + 4x vs PCIE 8X + 8x Crossfire!

Hi, planning to upgrade my motherboard for crossfire suuport in the future, so for some motherboards i found it supports crossfire with one x16 pcie slot and one x4 pcie slot, and for other motherboards the 2 pcie works runs @ x8, so i wonder which would be better for running the crossfire cards?!

16x4x is the worst performer for CrossFire,and its not recommended if you want to use 2 cards.Dual 8x/16x are good though and perform well.
