Need some southbridge advice

Pretty simple question actually. I need to build a computer for a neighbor, and only have 50$ for a motherboard. With that range (SUB-$50), it seems I have a choice between the GeForce 6100 with the nForce 410 southbridge or an AMD chipset with the SB700. In terms of southbridge performance, which is superior the nForce 410 or SB700? A video card will be added later so NB performance is not really an issue.

You want to shoot for a SB710 minimum for the ACC feature, and I believe Sata performance too.

To be honest I'd find it hard to recommend anything less than a SB710 as well. You can find some ASrock 770 or 785G boards starting around $65, the difference is worth it IMO. What CPU will it be used with?

Try and stick with AMD chipset if going AMD CPU.. one of them will work fine, but as said, the extra 10$ or so is really worth it to get a 785g based board..

Thanks guys, 785G it is. Twenty extra bucks spent now, rather than two hundred spent replacing obsolete crap later.
