Using a sata 3 0 in a 1 5 system

Can you put a Sata 3.0 in an old system the is only compatible to a Sata 1.5 and if so. How do you do it.

Depends on how old. What expansion slots do you have?

should work, may need to set a jumper on the drive to force 1.5, but should autodetect, they are all backward compatible.
