I have a Dell Precision WS380 and It's a great system but the Pentium D 3.0Ghz processor is a bit out of date, does anyone know what the latest CPU on the A09 BIOS supports? The motherboard has the Intel i955X Chipset so I should be able to put a decent Core 2 processor in it but I don't know if the Dell BIOS will support it. pcman3625@yahoo.com

The 955 chipset doesn't support core2 duo for any brand of motherboard. I suggest a g31 upgrade if you only use 2 ram slots, especially if you have a dell recovery windows cd or dvd and you feel comfortable changing out a motherboard. Those boards are cheap, and they're micro atx, which will fit many dell cases. Check your port positions carefully before changing boards, and see if your backplate is removable. And backup your dell files first, in case you have to format the drive.
