I recently bought an HIS Radeon HD 4870 about a year ago here is the link from new egg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161292&Tpk=HIS%20Radeon%20HD%204870. I also bought a new TV a Samsung 50" 1080p plasma this is the link to best buy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+50%22+Class+/+1080p+/+600Hz+/+Plasma+HDTV/9239399.p?id=1218065984837&skuId=9239399. Can I run blue ray movies I have stored on my hard drive to my tv? My tv has a dvi plug in on the back; however i do not want to burn out my Graphics card any way to tell if i can run these movies?

Also wanted to ask if there is any difference in DVI cables some on new egg are more expensive than others are some better?

It will work just fine and all DVI cables will give you the same quality.
You can also use the HDMI output (exact same quality as DVI) to pipe video and sound directly to the TV.
Make sure to change your default sound output device to 'ATI HDMI Output' if you want to do this.
