Did some researching on how much power an i7 uses at 4.0 ghz on load and I'm not confident my Antec CP 850w PSU will do, is it enough or am I reading the graphs wrong? If it's not enough, what's a good value CPU that will power a i7 4.0 Ghz and 5970?

+1 what jsc said.

Here are the official power requirements for the ATI Radeon™ HD 5970 video card.

ATI Radeon™ HD5970 System Requirements:

PCI Express® based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard

650 Watt or greater power supply with one 75 watt, 6-pin and one 150 watt, 8-pin PCI Express® power connectors

850 Watt power supply with two 75 watt 6-pin, and two 150 watt, 8-pin, PCI Express connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode

The power supply recommendations are for an entire pc system.

A stock system or a system with a CPU hogging 300 watts?

I'm ordering my GPU soon

Is there any way I can check exactly how many watts my current 4.0 Ghz i7 CPU is consuming?
