Hi, wondering if anyone can help. i have a inspiron 530s slimline dell desktop,

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 2.33GHz

4GB RAM

32 Bit Operating System

I would like to upgrade the graphics card in it, any advice on which one would be the best one to buy for this system. I want to be able to hook my computer to my flat screen television via HDMI to enable me to watch HD content from BBC iplayer etc....

Cheers

Hi Chris,

I have linked the Newegg.com store section with "low profile" cards. Typically, only low profile cards will fit in a slimline desktop.

Depending on how much you want to spend/how powerful you need it to be these are your best options (from lowest price to highest) Make sure the listing says HDMI--most have it but not all.

HD 4350($19 after rebate), 4550 or 4650, 9600GT, 9800 GT($99)

The amount of power you need will depend on the size and resolution of your screen, and if you want to do more than just watch video. The 4650, 9600GT, and 9800GT would be powerful enough to do some average gaming.

Also--if its a big screen you should err on the side of more ram on the card. If its a smaller screen or lower resolution 512 should be fine.
