Differance in ddr2 and ddr3

I have a somewhat large amount of memory and it's shameful that I'm unable to distinquish which is which. I'm kinda new at this and all the sites I've looked at just confused me further.(which occassionally isn't too difficult) I'd appreciate whatever you can enlighten me with....T. R.

I think Crucial has a program you can download that will scan your computer for you.
