I5 2500k overclocking on asus p8h61-mlx

Just a simple question can i overclock my cpu on my asus p8h61-mlx ?

Nope. Even though it's like double the price of a Gigabyte/AsRock mobo, it is because of USB 3.0 and SATA III.

Since its the H61 chipset, it can not. But if you're looking above avg H61 price range you could easily get a P8P67 or Z68 mobo which sure can.

the only mother board from the h61 budget series that comes to mind that can overclock is the asrock h61m/u3s3 mobo. the rest most likely cannot overclock.

You can't overclock on any H61/H67 board.

Technically, you could overclock it by raising the BCLCK, which is very inadvisable.

If you don't know what it does, then it's best not to try using it. You can damage everything in your computer by adjusting this, so it's best to leave it alone. As well, there really is no need to overclock a sandybridge i5.
