Hey all, I joined the site because it looks like the best one out there for solid information on computer parts :)
I'm making this post because I'm in the process of buying some upgrade parts for my current desktop.

I'm looking to squeeze the motherboard, cpu, gpu, and ram all in a budget of $560. I've been researching my options for days, and my current configuration is as follows:

19-115-215-TS

CPU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215

13-128-412-TS

MB:

14-130-440-TS

GPU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130440

20-231-193-TS

RAM:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231193

I'm trying to make this the best possible gaming desktop for the given budget. I want to be able to (almost? hopefully?) max out my current monitor's resolution (1680x1050) with almost all high settings. I would also like to be able to do decent on higher resolutions when I get a better monitor down the road.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post, and hopefully you guys have some suggestions/critique about my current config.

ahh mate thats $570 its good rig, should give you great fps with around high settings maybe a couple of the settings at medium, i have a friend who has this rig but 2 gcards and a dif motherboard but does same thing, he uses sli, all max settings great fps on cod6 etc. Preety good don't have anythign else for you man. That is good but how long will you be using it??? and maybe think of going sli.

You have the best gaming CPU chosen, but the graphics card is far too weak. A 9800 will not max out settings at 1680x1050. For that resolution an HD 5770 (around $170) is about right (its at least 1.5 times as fast as the 9800 you chose).

You would get better gaming performance at the same price from a weaker/cheaper CPU/motherboard and a stronger graphics card. If your budget is fixed then an AMD Phenom II x3 720 with a Gigabyte MA-770T-UD3P motherboard would free up money to get a better graphics card.

The HD 4890 was the best gaming card. You can swap it out for HD 4870 and up the cpu to maybe a tri core. Then pick out a cheap-s case.
