Which one for gaming

which cpu motherboard combo would give the best gaming performance
amd phenom 2 X4 965 black and asus crosshair formula 3 or
i5 750 lynnfield and msi p55 -gd80
will be using windows 7 pro 64 bit,4gb ram , GTX275 msi lighting, 150 gb velociraptor,corsair tx 750 psu thanks

Well for starters I would choose the 955 over the 965 since they overclock the same. If price does not matter the i5 750 would be the better choice.

Both processor will overclock on air to ~4ghz.

It's really personal preference..If you want to save money go AMD, if you want slightly better performance go Intel.

Btw unless you have money to blow you don't need a $200 MB. You can get a good quality board that will overclock just as good for $120-150.

The samsung f3 500gb is new and only uses one platter. It is the fastest 500gb model out and it's cheap @ $50-55.
It's not faster than the velociraptor..but a much better value. If you want pure performance get a SSD, it's the single best upgrade you can do imo.
