USB PORTS NOT WORKING

Last response: in Components

Hello, I have a Dell Optiplex Desktop which has only USB ports for keyboard & mouse connections. the USB stoped working and the system freezes on Booting while loading BIOS if any USB device is connected to it but boots to desktop if no USB device is connected. sometimes it asks for BIOS configuration. The problem is without any input device how can one configur BIOS? I had an engineer check up the boards (Front and rear) and certified them all good. I tried getting a PCI USB Adaptor but it didn't work out. As far as I know, there is no PCI PS/2 adaptor in the market here. What do I do next? somebody help out pls.

More about : usb ports working

@Enzo Matrix Thanks for your concern, I wish I could just get that card off my screen and use it. About where I live (not everything that shines is gold" and not everything that is black is charcoal), I am from Nigeria (Benin city). Can you make out something for me please?

I'm sorry, I can't find anything.

Although I'm not sure if it would help, you could try resetting the bios. Unplug your computer and remove the bios battery (the "watch battery" on the motherboard) for a few seconds.

I removed the Cmos battery and left the system for upto a week but it came up the same way.

If I may ask, do you or anyone else have any idea about SERIAL CONNECTION?
