I want to be able to watch videos from my laptop on my tv by hooking my laptop up to the tv (sound is not necessary).

Here is the back of my tv:

My laptop has a VGA port.

I was going to buy a VGA to RCA (Y / Pr / Pb) cable but I'm not sure it would work.

Help would be really appreciated :).

oh sorry didnt realize the picture, the streaming to get it up was too slow ^^

Well... you can use s-vid or HDMI, but guess your laptop got neither...

What you said about VGA to RCA may work, look it up a bit more, i aint pro on that section to be honest

you cannot go vga to component as you suggest unless you buy an actual signal converter because vga sends data as the luminence of red green and blue. component video (y pb pr) sends luminence as differences between the colors at each pixel, the difference is significant enough for it not to just work

so anyway, you pretty much need a converter for whatever you want to do....sorry
