Anyone have any luck OC'ing the FX-6100 to 5GHz?

I'd love to push this cheapy that far and be able to prime95 it (I can boot fine with a nice high voltage).

But I'm having trouble pushing it past 4.7 12 hours in-place FFT stable.
So, question is - anyone who is sporting this little processor able to get it up to 5 jigahurts?

I'm buying a 8150 shortly (best proc we have in NZ for AMD as far as I know).

Running a Asus M5A97 on this build.

More about anyone luck 6100 5ghz
  1. as far as i know you have to disable all but 1 module to get 5GHz stable
  2. 4 cores at 5GHz?

Damn, I was hoping for all 3 modules running.
    Thank you for your response.
  3. Try for lower temps then push for 5ghz. When one hit a wall it seams when it comes to clocks it is usually power and cooling that is the issue. What are your temps and make sure that the power vrm phases that power the cpu on the board are not getting to hot. Beyond that you may have hit the max that your build might go.
  4. Ive gotten it to 5ghz no problem just ran a tad hot...Using an Antec Khuler 920...All 6 cores running... it was stable and all

What voltage were you running? Temperatures so far don't seem to be a concern with my wc loop.

1.55 volts. definantly not for someone with a weak watercooling or aircooling...for everyday use you would need a serious watercooling loop. big tubes and atleast a triple rad with push pull and the lower the temp the higher the overclock with less voltage.
