I haven't built a PC from scratch since the AMD K6-III days.

I have been given a Intel Quad Core Q6600 chip and 2GB DDR RAM.
I occasionally play older FPS games and would like to get into video editing.
My current PC is a Pentium D dual core/ATI FireGL 7200/80GB RAID 0
Please recommend a motherboard for me.

Thanks in advance.

a Price range would help... but oh well

For $130 diffinately this P45

at the low end for $60

mid range $80 i would highly recommend the extra 20 bucks for this one over the G41.

anyways these are just a few suggestions. Gigabyte makes some of the best boards out there so no worries there.

hope this helps and good luck!

I also really like the Gigabyte motherboards.

If you are planning on overclocking, skip the G41. Supported FSB speeds do not go high enough.

The P45 "L" and "P" models are very good overclockers. I have a Q6600 running at 3.6 GHz in my "L" and a Q9550 running at 3.6 GHz in my "P".
