There is a built in sims named Brandi, who have sons Dustin and beau..
Dustin having began to rebel once his young father died...
I was playing her for the first time, their mother Brandi, when all of a
sudden her belly popped out and she was pregnant.
I didn't remember any whoohoo in other homes in the neighborhood so I began
to look at her memories..
she has no whoohoo memories other than with her husband.
I would have thought a whoohoo memory would have come up with her now being
pregnant.
The child, another boy looks like her...
but I don't see even a hint of who else's child she could have bore.

Does anyone else have this when they play this family?
thanks

It's by the same father as the other boys. You can look it up in the kids
family tree. I guess she had just murdered her husband recently when the
game starts.

I thought the same thing about her being pregnant
but he died right before she gave birth to Beau..
how did she then get pregnant again?
if you look in her memories, she gives birth to beau AFTER her husband
dies..
at least thats what I think happened without having the game open in front
of me..

I'll check on that next time I have Pleasantview open. I was jsut basing it
on the third kids family tree.

But couldn't she have gotten pregnant before he died? Even though the
timeline is different in Sims it does take 9 months to have a baby. Women
have their husbands baby after their hubby dies all the time.

If he died right before Beau was born, then Beau is his child, but
what about the new baby? She is already pregnant when you first play
the Broke house.

The problem is in her memories I gather that he is shown as dying before the
birth of one child and she is pregnant with yet another child when you start
the house. She certainly could have been pregnant with one before her
husbands death but how she got the other one would be a mystery.

I've mainly been playing Strangetown lately because my Pleasantview is
bursting at the seams by this point but one of these days I will look at it
again. I wish there was a way to move a Sim to an adjacent neighbourhood
without packaging them like one Sim bin for all the neighbourhoods so I
could have moved some of the many offspring of my family sims to a new area
without a hassle.

no..
with beau yes but if he died before beau was born there is no way that he
could be the father..
I also don't see anyone in her love list at all...

like Cassandra who has another love besides her Don (Juan) :)  lol

I am sure you already thought of this but couldn't you
just move some of the family members to a new lot and then of course grab
them from that house and put them into the other neighborhood? I have done
this with some of my sims when the neighborhood got full or I wanted to
remove a love interest...and recreate new ones.
I moved a few families from Pleasantview to Strangetown..
it's not hard imo..
with the "find your own place" option it's easy to just move them into a
house and move that house to a neighborhood..of your making or choosing

Yeah I was just hoping to avoid the hassle. I guess it will come to that
though as Pleasnatview risks getting a tad inbred if we don't thin out the
ranks of a few of the more reproductive minded families.

I would imagine used the testing cheats to get her pregnant with her
dead husband. Which is why he show up as the father.

If you look through all the records of the ancestors and such with
SimPE, Maxis apparently never actually played the neighborhood. None
of the dead people have any skills or memories, really. They just must
have used the testing cheats to create the appearance of it.

Nonsense, in his pool ladder accident he hit his head real hard, which not
only killed him, but gave him wood so powerful and rigid that the makers of
Cialis would faint dead away at the sight of it, and Brandi, after giving
birth to Beau and seeing that, did what only comes naturally to her.

Eew!

The sad thing is that I can believe that of Brandi - breeding at all costs.

I'm trying to get her to have a child by at least eight different men. Now
that Pleasantview has grown, having her have a child by each man in the
neighborhood is no longer a realistic option.

She's lagging way behind. Pregnancy takes way too long for this sort of
scheme.

That wasn't what I was referring to, merely the logistics of her getting
pregnant by every guy in the neighborhood in a timely fashion.

At best, each kid takes three days to produce. In order to optimize the
speed in which this occurs, she has to build up a relationship with another
man so much that he is willing to slip between the sheets with her, and she
has to do this with multiple men, while she's pregnant. In order for her to
have children with every man in the neighborhood, now that the neighborhood
has grown, she'll have to spend at least 75 days on this, and that's
requiring that she gets pregnant the same day she drops a kid, which isn't
that realistic. So it's more like 100-110 played days of the Broke family
(which I have not done for any of my families). That's assuming she can
build a romantic relationship with new guys while she's pregnant and its
attendant side effects (rapid decline of needs, can't leave the lot, etc).
The first couple of guys were easy, but after a while it's a grueling
undertaking. Eight different guys are taking me long enough as it is.
