Problem loading OS

I just finished my first ever build with the i5 and a Gigabyte UD3r MB. I have a WD Black 640gb bare drive I am trying to use as my HDD. In the BIOS it is recognized and set to master sata1 and is being used as IDE. The problem is when I try and install WIN7 from the CD Windows doesnt recognize the drive when I need to select a location to install. I am not sure how to get it to see this drive

I see that it looks like the MB has RAID. If you want to do a quick test you can try loading the RAID driver and see if it then sees the HDD, if so disable RAID (or use a different port). I've had this be the issue once.

I tried loading all of the RAID drivers and switching ports on the MB. I assume that it being a bare drive Win7 will allow me to partition the drive before loading windows and I do not have to partition or format the drive on another computer first.

Anyone else have any advice on how to solve this?
