Here is what I am planning to buy. Nothing is written in stone yet, so if you think anything should be changed let me know.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: January-February BUDGET RANGE: 1100 $ CAD (1040 $ USD)

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, some video editing for fun, homework, web surfing, etc.

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: The only thing I don't need is an OS, I have vista already

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.ca COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: canada

PARTS PREFERENCES: Must be AMD, and preferably ATI GPU

OVERCLOCKING: maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE: no

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1680x1050

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I will not be gaming intensively. I am definately not one of those people who need crysis at max everything and 8xAA etc. I would still like it to be pretty decent at games anyways.

I was looking at the ATI HD 5770...
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...
...but if it is overkill I would definitely not object to saving a little bit of money on a cheaper one. I was looking at that one because I have no experience with GPUs and gaming pcs so I wanted to make sure I had a good enough one.

So thanks in advance for the help, if you have any questions just ask.

batuchka suggested to someone else (looking for a similar build) to get this mobo. Its about 50 bucks cheaper than the one I was going to get, so here it is. Just mentioning in case it changes anything about the graphics card

HD5770 would be ideal for that specially if you are going to be running Win7 or vista

OK thanks. I was hoping that I could save some money by getting another card but more important to me is performance.
