Loading new Ipod and keeping old Ipod music

I have puchased an ipod touch because my ipod nano was full. I want to use the songs from the nano on the ipod touch but also add more music to that Ipod Touch. Most of my music is from CD's.
How should I add this new Ipod touch which has 32gb storage.
I want to keep same music on the Nano but change playlists on it or delete songs and add others in the 4gb storage. Will the old Nano still sync when I make changes?

Use SharePod to back up the music to the computer and iTunes to the Ipod touch (SharePod doesn't support the iPod touch)
